Zvy\u0161uje sa tak sty\u010dn\u00e1 plocha medzi piestom a valcom a aj stabilita piesta.<br \/>\nNajv\u00e4\u010d\u0161\u00ed tlak na plochu vznik\u00e1 na bok piesta, 90\u00b0 vo\u010di piestnemu \u010dapu. Je tu e\u0161te kontaktn\u00fd tlak, tepeln\u00e9 nam\u00e1hanie, mechanick\u00e9 nam\u00e1hanie, \u017eivotnos\u0165 piesta, umiestnenie piestnych kr\u00fa\u017ekov, tvar spa\u013eovacej plochy piesta, at\u010f.<\/p>\n<p>Stieracie a tesniace piestne kr\u00fa\u017eky musia dosahova\u0165 \u010do najni\u017e\u0161ie trenie, preto\u017ee v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ina kr\u00fa\u017ekov nem\u00e1 presn\u00fd tvar kruhu.
