Ozna\u010denie CB sa v hist\u00f3rii motocyklov Honda sp\u00e1ja s prelomov\u00fdm CB750, ktor\u00e9ho debut sa datuje na rok 1969. Model CB650F nastupuje po zn\u00e1mom modely CB600F Hornet, pri\u010dom sa jedn\u00e1 o \u00faplne nov\u00fd model od sp\u00e4tn\u00fdch zrkadiel a\u017e po koles\u00e1. Modely od Hondy hrali v\u017edy hlavn\u00fa rolu v strednej v\u00e1he, v\u010faka kombin\u00e1cii n\u00edzkej hmotnosti a siln\u00e9mu v\u00fdkonu motora. Aj v motocyklom svete podlieha v\u00fdvoj ur\u010dit\u00fdm trendom ale v Honde s\u00fa tvrdohlav\u00ed a aj model pre rok 2014 bude poh\u00e1\u0148an\u00fd prav\u00fdm \u0161tvorvalcom, ktor\u00fd pon\u00faka vysok\u00fd \u0161t\u00fdl a \u0161pecifik\u00e1cie. Motocykle tohto typu musia pon\u00faknu\u0165 siln\u00fa akceler\u00e1ciu z miesta, dostato\u010dn\u00fd kr\u00fatiaci moment pri ni\u017e\u0161\u00edch a stredn\u00fdch ot\u00e1\u010dkach a r\u00fdchlu odozvu na zmenu polohy plynu. Prudk\u00e9 nakopnutie nad \u00a06000 ot\/min bolo dosiahnut\u00e9 s prihliadan\u00edm na redukciu prev\u00e1dzkov\u00fdch n\u00e1kladov. Motor je vybaven\u00fd rozvodom s dvoma va\u010dkov\u00fdmi hriade\u013emi v hlave valcov a 4 ventilmi na valec, pri\u010dom vyu\u017e\u00edva \u00a0priame ovl\u00e1danie a \u010dasovanie va\u010dky a t\u00fdm dosahuje vysok\u00fd kr\u00fatiaci moment aj pod 4000 ot\/min. \u00a0Optimalizovan\u00edm d\u013a\u017eky ojnice sa podarilo zn\u00ed\u017ei\u0165 bo\u010dn\u00e9 sily p\u00f4sobiace na piesty a straty pri nas\u00e1van\u00ed s rast\u00facimi ot\u00e1\u010dakami boli zredukovan\u00e9. Piesty boli vyvinut\u00e9 s podporou CAE programov a asymetrick\u00fd okraje valcov minimalizuj\u00fa vn\u00fatorn\u00e9 trenie. \u00dapravou povrchu valcov sa podarilo zn\u00ed\u017ei\u0165 spotrebu oleja a trenie pri zlep\u0161en\u00ed odvodu tepla. Tich\u00e1 SV rozvodov\u00e1 re\u0165az zni\u017euje trecie straty, v\u010faka filmu na povrchu kol\u00edkov z van\u00e1dia a vodn\u00e1 pumpa pre\u0161la optimaliz\u00e1ciou v CAE programoch a t\u00fdm sa stala kompaktnej\u0161ia, \u013eah\u0161ia a efekt\u00edvnej\u0161ia. Vykonan\u00e9 \u00fapravy sp\u00f4sobil, \u017ee sa v\u00fdkonov\u00e1 krivka dostane na hodnotu 64 kW v 11000 ot\/min a kr\u00fatiaci moment dosiahne hodnotu 63 Nm pri 8000 ot\/min. V\u00fdvody kan\u00e1likov pre chladiacu kvapalinu z hlavy valcov sa podarilo vyvies\u0165 z motora s minim\u00e1lnym zasahovan\u00edm do vonkaj\u0161ieho dizajnu. Kot\u00fa\u010de s\u00fa vyr\u00e1ban\u00e9 tou istou technol\u00f3giou ako kot\u00fa\u010de ur\u010den\u00e9 pre dvojvalcov\u00fd model NC 750.
