Doteraj\u0161ie s\u00fa\u0165a\u017ee, ktor\u00fdch sa t\u00e1to nemeck\u00e1 zna\u010dka z\u00fa\u010dastnila podliehali ich technike. U\u017e v osemdesiatych rokoch minul\u00e9 storo\u010dia dok\u00e1zala Audi so svoj\u00edm pohonom 4&#215;4 vyhr\u00e1va\u0165 mnoh\u00e9 rally. V dev\u00e4\u0165desiatych rokoch sa zna\u010dka so \u0161tyrmi kruhmi rozhodla opusti\u0165 nespevnen\u00e9 cesty a vybrala sa opa\u010dn\u00fdm, spevnen\u00fdm smerom\u00a0rovno do naj\u0165a\u017e\u0161\u00edch a najprest\u00ed\u017enej\u0161\u00edch s\u00fa\u0165a\u017e\u00ed na asfalte: WEC &#8211; vytrvalostn\u00e9 preteky, DTMm Super-Tourenwagen.<br \/>\nV priebehu spom\u00ednan\u00e9ho desa\u0165ro\u010dia prepracovali Nemci svoj n\u00e1hon na obe n\u00e1pravy a v teraj\u0161om roku m\u00f4\u017eu tak predstavi\u0165 p\u00e1r noviniek, alebo zmien, ktor\u00e9 prebehli za posledn\u00e9 roky.<\/p>\n<p>Doteraz mohla Audi v triede LMP1 vyu\u017e\u00edva\u0165 svoj pohon v\u0161etk\u00fdch kolies iba nad r\u00fdchlos\u0165 120km\/h \u010do sa m\u00ed\u0148alo svojmu hlavn\u00e9mu opodstatneniu vyu\u017e\u00edvania tohto pohonu. N\u00e1hon na obe n\u00e1pravy je potrebn\u00fd v kritickej\u0161\u00edch &#8211; ni\u017e\u0161\u00edch r\u00fdchlostiach, ako napr. pri v\u00fdjazde zo z\u00e1kruty. Dva\u00a0hriadele sp\u00e1jaj\u00fa tento syst\u00e9m s predn\u00fdmi kolesami. Pri brzden\u00ed sa men\u00ed kinetick\u00e1 energia vozidla na elektrick\u00fa. Elektrick\u00e1 energia te\u010die do vylep\u0161en\u00e9ho zotrva\u010dn\u00edka s akumul\u00e1torom, ktor\u00fd je umiestnen\u00fd v dolnej \u010dasti kokpitu ved\u013ea vodi\u010da. Pohon je teda e\u0161te \u013eah\u0161\u00ed Od 2014 je povolen\u00fd iba jeden elektromotor po d\u013a\u017eke auta,\u00a0ten je spojen\u00fd s prednou n\u00e1pravou.
